ACLU Withdraws Challenge to Kentucky’s Near-Total Abortion Ban

The American Civil Liberties Union of Kentucky voluntarily dismissed a proposed class action challenging two Kentucky laws that resulted in a near-total ban on abortions, less than two weeks after it was first filed.

Attorneys filed the notice of voluntary dismissal in the Jefferson Circuit Court on Sunday. The anonymous lead plaintiff brought the suit Dec. 8 after she learned her embryo no longer had cardiac activity, according to an ACLU press release announcing the suit.
