Accenture Hit With Gender Bias Suit Over CEO’s Diversity Goals

Accenture LLP was hit with a lawsuit by a senior manager who says its chief executive officer’s diversity goals cost him a promotion to managing director.

Syed Raza sued the managing consulting company alleging it repeatedly denied him promotions in favor of less qualified female employees to meet gender parity goals, and that he was terminated in retaliation for complaining about gender bias and after taking medical protected leave.

After Accenture hired Julie Sweet as its CEO in 2019 she announced her goal to achieve gender parity at the company by 2025, the lawsuit says.
