3M, Saint-Gobain, Honeywell to Pay $65 Million in PFAS Suit (1)

Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics Corp., Honeywell International Inc., and 3M Co. will pay $65 million to resolve upstate New York residents’ claims in federal court that their drinking water was contaminated with PFAS.

The residents allege the chemicals, also known as per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, were released from Saint-Gobain or Honeywell’s predecessor’s facilities in the village of Hoosick Falls, northeast of Albany, N.Y. The parties sought preliminary approval of the class settlement and class certification in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York on Wednesday.
