3M, Saint-Gobain $65 Million Deal Over N.Y. Pollution Approved

3M Co., Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics Corp., Honeywell International Inc., and residents of upstate New York secured a federal court’s final approval Friday for a $65 million class settlement resolving claims that their drinking water was contaminated with the toxic chemical PFOA.

The settlement provides monetary relief and medical screening for PFOA-related health conditions.

Michele Baker and others alleged that Saint-Gobain or predecessors of Honeywell caused release of the chemicals, known as per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, in the village of Hoosick Falls.
