3M Company Defeats Worker’s Religious Bias Suit Over Vaccine

A Christian man working for 3M Co. who objected to the company’s Covid-19 vaccine policy can’t revive his religious bias suit, the Eighth Circuit said.

Thomas Clobes, employed at 3M’s manufacturing plant in Hutchinson, Minn., objected to the company’s vaccine mandate announced in September 2021, citing religious and safety concerns. In response, 3M required him to wear a mask—ultimately lifting the vaccine requirement that December. Clobes failed to sufficiently plead a connection between 3M’s alleged harassment and his religious identity, said Judge Bobby E.
