1-800-Got-Junk? recorded telephone calls between consumers and customer-service representatives in violation of the California Invasion of Privacy Act, a proposed federal class action said.
Justin Serna alleged the waste-management company recorded and monitored the calls through software provided by Invoca Inc., and shared the calls with third parties, without giving consumers’ notice or obtaining their consent.
The company recorded several calls between Serna and its agents in 2021 and 2022, including calls in which he discussed personal and confidential matters, according to a complaint filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Central District of California. ...
