White & Case LLP and one of its London arbitration partners, David Goldberg, must pay fines totaling £300,000 ($388,873) for failing to identify a conflict of interest and adequately protect confidential client information, the U.K.’s Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal decided July 19 (White & Case LLP, Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal, No. 449150, 7/19/17).
The penalties of £250,000 ($324,061) for the firm and £50,000 ($64,812) for Goldberg were handed down by the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal, which adjudicates alleged breaches of the rules and regulations applicable to solicitors and their firms in England and Wales.
