OpenAI Hires xAI’s Former CFO After Abrupt Exit From Musk’s Firm

OpenAI hired former xAI Chief Financial Officer Mike Liberatore after the finance expert quit Elon Musk’s company just a few months into the job.

Liberatore started as OpenAI’s business finance officer on Tuesday, according to a person familiar with the matter, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss internal matters. In that role, Liberatore will oversee billions of dollars in AI infrastructure spending and report to Chief Financial Officer Sarah Friar, according to CNBC, which was first to report the hire.
