Law Leaders Must Drive Change, Communicate It Well, Lawyers Say

In-house lawyers have a major role in driving change, including new tech implementations and billing and contracting updates, attorneys said at the Association of Corporate Counsel annual meeting in Philadelphia Tuesday.

Those kinds of changes require support from employees, in-house legal leaders said. Corporate legal and compliance leaders need to communicate clearly and understand underlying causes before implementing changes, they said.

Lawyers need to develop a “clearly articulated vision that people can buy into,” said Matt Nolan, general counsel, third party risk management, Honeywell International Inc.
