The law firm business model may be the biggest obstacle to rapid adoption of technology like artificial intelligence and other processes that can help automate tasks, a speaker suggested at a legal technology conference Aug. 21.

Although law firms are finding new ways to deliver legal services through the use of technology, there haven’t been significant changes to the legal business model to eventually spur more innovation.
