Ford Retreats Further on DEI, Shifting to ‘Inclusive Culture’

Ford signaled to investors it was backtracking on its corporate strategy around diversity, equity, and inclusion, in its annual report published Thursday morning.

The move follows through on hints the automaker made over the summer that it was changing its stance on DEI.

While Ford’s new annual report said the company was “building a diverse and inclusive workplace,” it no longer contains language from the 2023 version that said Ford was “embedding DEI into our corporate strategy and governance.”

The fresh report also strikes all specific mentions of DEI, replacing it with more generic terms such as “inclusive culture” and ...
