A lawyer who allegedly threatened opposing counsel with disciplinary action to gain an advantage at trial was properly disciplined, a Texas appeals court affirmed.
Sufficient evidence supported Jack Zeev Yetiv’s probation in lieu of a four-month suspension, the Texas 14th Court of Appeals said March 14. Yetiv’s state bar record shows his probation ran from July to November 2017.
The disciplinary commission argued successfully in the professional conduct trial that Yetiv violated a rule against threatening disciplinary charges “solely to gain an advantage in a civil matter.”
