Second Circuit Ends ‘Unfinished Business’ Case

The district court in Thelen LLP’s bankruptcy proceeding correctly dismissed the trustee’s claims seeking to recover profits that Seyfarth Shaw LLP earned on hourly fee matters brought to the firm by departing Thelen partners, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit held Aug. 6 (Geron v. Seyfarth Shaw LLP (In re Thelen LLP), 2014 BL 217400, 2d Cir., No. 12-4138-bk, aff’g 476 B.R. 732, 28 Law. Man. Prof. Conduct 557).
