An attorney who failed to progress a client’s labor case and didn’t pay all associated sanctions must explain why he doesn’t deserve more sanctions or even disbarment, a federal judge in California said.
Magistrate Judge Stanley A. Boone of the US District Court for the Eastern District of California ordered Michael Freiman to show cause within seven days as to why further sanctions or a disbarment shouldn’t be imposed. Freiman paid only part of the sanctions ordered by the court for failing to show diligence in moving the case forward through arbitration, and other violations.
