Keller Rohrback LLP attorneys can’t represent a couple in their dispute against USAA Casualty Insurance Co. because of a conflict of interest, the Washington Court of Appeals ruled.
The suit over fire-damage repairs to Richard and Debra Plein’s home is substantially related to prior litigation in which different Keller lawyers represented USAA, the court said. USAA and Keller had a decade-long attorney-client relationship that ended just three months before attorneys William Smart and Ian Birk joined the Pleins’ legal team, it said.
