An attorney who drew up the terms of a stock-transfer contract on behalf of an aircraft-parts company can’t represent the company’s former manager in a suit against it over the deal’s demise, a Florida appeals court held Sept. 4.
Juan Menadier’s suit against Above Ground Level Aerospace Corp. and its owner, Francisco Aracena Blamey, is “substantially related” to attorney Stephen J. Kolski’s previous work for AGL, the Florida District Court of Appeal, Third District said. It quashed a trial-court ruling that allowed Kolski to continue representing Menadier in his suit for breach of an oral contract and unjust enrichment.
