A Washinton, D.C., attorney was disbarred Thursday when a divided appeals court overruled her objections to findings that she was flagrantly dishonest in bankruptcy filings for the first several years she practiced law.
Deni-Antionette Julia Mazingo-Mayronne was accused of repeatedly claiming in filings that she was a non-attorney bankruptcy petition preparer, and of falsely denying prior criminal convictions when applying to the District of Maryland Bar. She was further accused of intentionally making false statements in connection with her own personal bankruptcy in 2005, and of representing clients in jurisdictions where she wasn’t authorized to practice law.
