Chevron Wins Judgment Against Ex-Lawyer Who Sued in Ecuador

A former attorney who defrauded Chevron Corp. in Ecuador owes over $600,000 in additional fines after disobeying the terms of the Southern District of New York’s racketeering judgment against him.

Suspended attorney Steven Donziger violated the court’s orders by selling his interest in the Ecuadorian judgment and failing to pay Chevron the proceeds, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York said May 23.
