Zynga Gets Three Gaming Patents Stayed in Infringement Lawsuit

Zynga Inc. avoided infringement allegations over three of four game software patents after a Texas federal judge severed and stayed claims related to those canceled by an administrative tribunal.

IGT and IGT Canada Solutions ULC’s case against Zynga will continue with its remaining allegations concerning US Patent No. 9,159,189, Judge Alan D. Albright of the US District Court for the Western District of Texas said in a Sept. 12 order.

The allegations involving the invalid patents are pending any appeals of the final written decisions of the Patent Trial and Appeal Board’s inter partes reviews, according to the ...
