Zoom Sued for Trademark Infringement Over ‘Zapp’ App Integration

Zoom Video Communications Inc.'s new “Zapps” function for integrating third-party apps infringes Zapier Inc.'s trademarks covering similar services, according to a complaint filed Monday in San Francisco federal court.

Zapier makes software that connects and integrates internet applications using automated workflows known as “Zaps.” According to the complaint, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, Zoom worked with Zapier in 2015 to integrate Zoom with other apps, and Zoom’s website still contains instructions on how to create Zaps.
