Personalized products platform Zazzle Inc. survived summary judgment and will force a font designer to take her claims it ripped off her work to trial following a ruling from a California federal court.
Nicky Laatz established Zazzle agreed to terms on Creative Market, where its employee bought a single-seat license to her fonts, and Zazzle allowed its users to incorporate into products, the US District Court for the Northern District of California said. But she failed to convince the court that she’d established her breach of contract, fraud, and copyright infringement claims.
