YouTube Creators Add Copyright Claims to OpenAI Scraping Suit

Creators accusing OpenAI Inc. of scraping millions of YouTube videos to train its artificial intelligence products without consent added copyright infringement claims to their federal lawsuit.

YouTube user and music creator Ruslana Petryazhna joined the proposed class action suit to represent all US parties who registered videos’ copyrighted material that was then transcribed and used as training data for the AI company’s models, according to the amended complaint filed Oct. 18 in the US District Court for the Northern District of California.
