Yeti Says Competitor Infringes Cooler, Tumbler Trade Dress

Yeti Coolers LLC says that a Texas-based cooler maker infringes its cooler and tumbler trade dress.

South Jetty Coolers makes “confusingly similar imitations” of Yeti’s Roadie and Tundra coolers and Rambler drinkware, Yeti says in an Aug. 28 complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas.

Yeti says it has trade dress rights in design features of its coolers including a “style line” on the front, corners with indentations, and a ledge around the perimeter. The design of Yeti’s tumblers is also protectable as trade dress, it says.
