The XFL professional American football league is facing a trademark infringement lawsuit from Togethxr, an equality-focused sports brand founded by athletes including basketball player Sue Bird and soccer player Alex Morgan.
The complaint said the XFL’s rebranding campaign, which launched at the beginning of April, used an X design that is confusingly similar to Togethxr’s logo.
The XFL’s rebrand also “prominently features” the word “Together,” which is too similar to Togethxr’s trademark, according to the complaint filed Wednesday in the US District Court for the Central District of California.
