X Fails to Escape Trademark Lawsuit Over Twitter Name Change

The social media platform X Corp., formerly Twitter Inc., must face most of a trademark infringement lawsuit from a legal marketing firm called X Social Media LLC.

Judge John Antoon ruled Monday that X Social Media, a company that connects law firms with clients through social media, has sufficiently alleged that the Elon Musk-owned X Corp. has caused consumer confusion over the similar names.

X Social Media, founded in 2015, sued the internet platform in the US District Court for the Middle District of Florida in October 2023.
