X.AI should have sufficiently investigated the underlying facts before filing a lawsuit that the US District Court for the Northern District of California tossed last month, Judge Rita F. Lin said in an order Monday. X.AI had asked for a six-month stay after being given three weeks to amend its complaint, which OpenAI had called an attempt to “bully” former employees.
