World Wrestling Entertainment Inc. couldn’t escape a copyright lawsuit brought in Illinois federal court by a tattoo artist who says it used her work without permission in a video game series.

Catherine Alexander’s claims that WWE infringed her copyrights in tattoos she designed for wrestler Randy Orton were sufficiently fleshed out to beat the company’s motion to dismiss, the court said Wednesday.
