WiTricity Corp. filed a federal lawsuit alleging that Ideanomics Inc.’s WAVE-branded wireless charging systems—designed for mass transit and logistics applications—infringe five patents for wireless energy transfer technology.
The accused WAVE charging systems, sold by Ideanomics and its Wireless Advanced Vehicle Electrification LLC unit, are deployed in public transportation systems in Florida, Texas, California, and Washington state, according to a complaint filed July 30 and docketed Wednesday in the US District Court for the District of Delaware.
Witricity seeks damages including lost profits and at least a reasonably royalty and an order block further unauthorized use of the inventions.
