Wireless EV Charging Company Opens New Front in Patent Dispute

A wireless electric vehicle charging technology firm has again accused a competitor of violating a handful of patents with systems for recharging electric bus fleets that are set to launch around the country.

In a complaint filed Tuesday in a Philadelphia federal court, WiTricity Corp. alleged that InductEV Inc. infringes US Patent Nos. 8,461,719, 10,027,184, 8,912,687, and 8,466,654—which cover wireless charging systems for electric vehicles—and asked for damages and a permanent injunction against InductEV.
