‘Wild Wild Country’ Subject Says Netflix Infringed Copyrights

Netflix infringed the copyrights of the successor to the religious group at the heart of its documentary “Wild Wild Country” by using its materials without its permission, the group told a Los Angeles federal court.

The documentary is “little more than a repackaging of content purloined from other authors and filmmakers,” the Osho International Foundation said in a Nov. 7 complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.

“Without OIF’s footage, WWC would have little to no value or appeal to the public,” the foundation said.
