David Sacks, the White House’s top AI official, warned Tuesday that the US was at the risk of overregulating AI, with hundreds of artificial intelligence bills making their way through state legislatures.
“There’s a real risk that we overregulate this thing too early, before we even know exactly what it is, what it could be,” Sacks said at a Washington technology conference. “There’s a great danger that in trying to regulate a risk that hasn’t even happened yet, that we end up killing this thing in the cradle. And that would be very bad for our economy.”
