Whirlpool Accuses Samsung of Infringing Two Dishwasher Patents

Whirlpool Corp. sued Samsung Electronics Co. alleging infringement of Whirlpool’s patents related to dishwasher racks that can hold both drinkware and utensils.

Samsung infringes US Patent Nos. 12,232,681 and 10,512,385, according to the complaint filed Oct. 10 in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. Samsung Electronics America Inc. is also a defendant.

Whirlpool’s enhanced top-rack technology practices the two patents and is incorporated into dishwashers sold under its KitchenAid brand, according to the complaint.
