Western Digital Corp. owes SPEX Technologies Inc. $315.7 million for infringing a patent covering encryption technology.

A jury determined Friday that Western Digital’s Ultrastar He10 and My Book products—both hard drives—infringed US Patent No. 6,088,802, according to the verdict filed in the US District Court for the Central District of California.
