Wellness Influencer Partly Ducks ‘The Surf Lodge’ Trademark Suit

A wellness influencer escaped part of a trademark suit from a former friend and employer because the plaintiff and her celebrity hotel in the Hamptons merely license the marks at issue, a New York federal court ruled.

Neither Jayma Cardoso nor her company JC Hospitality—which operates The Surf Lodge—can sue Marisa Hochberg for infringement, the US District Court for the Southern District of New York said in an opinion Monday.
