A pair of novel-writing sisters sued romance fantasy author Rebecca Yarros, alleging she stole the basis, themes and material of her “Empyrian” series from a string of books they published on the storytelling website Wattpad,.
Yarros’ series, which includes the books “Fourth Wing” and “Iron Flame,” infringed the copyrights of Lesley and Lindsey Aldrich’s co-written young-adult novels published under the pseudonym “Liz Ald” that had garnered over a million views on Wattpad, according to the complaint filed Jan. 17 and docketed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Southern District of California.
