Warner Bros. Sued Over Harry Potter Toy Recording Copyrights

Warner Bros. infringed a voice actor’s copyrights by using his recordings made for a Harry Potter toy in numerous other toys, videos, and tourist attractions, according to a new lawsuit.

The Production Pit Ltd.—whose principal, British voice actor Marc Silk, has performed in the Star Wars, TMNT, and Bob the Builder franchises—accused Warner Bros. Enertainment Inc. of using, without permission, recordings it created for a talking plush toy depicting the Sorting Hat from the children’s fantasy book and film series.
