Warner Music Group Corp. subsidiaries accused popular cookie franchise Crumbl LLC of infringing a wide array of copyrighted songs in social media marketing campaigns, according to a new federal lawsuit.
Crumbl used 159 of the “most popular and valuable sound recordings and musical compositions in the market” in promotional materials without authorization, according to the complaint filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the District of Utah. The 13 plaintiffs include Atlantic Records Group LLC, Elektra Entertainment Group Inc., and Warner Records Inc., among others.
