Walmart, Target Sued Over Text Generation Tech Patent (1)

Walmart Inc. and Target Corp. are selling phones and tablets with a language generation system that infringes patented technology, a patent holding company alleged.

Universal Cipher LLC filed two separate lawsuits against Walmart and Target May 7. The complaints show how patent holding companies target not only manufacturers but retailers with litigation in a bid to win concessions such as royalty payments.
