Oracle Gets Sonrai Patent Suit Moved From Waco to Austin Court

Oracle Corp. will defend a patent lawsuit over computer processor technology in Austin, after securing a transfer from the Western District of Texas’ Waco division.

Austin is clearly a more convenient place to litigate the infringement suit, which was brought by Sonrai Memory Ltd., Judge Alan Albright in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas said in a Wednesday opinion.

Oracle moved its headquarters from California to Austin in 2020. The suit has been reassigned to Judge Lee Yeakel in the Austin division.
