VW Said to Settle with Broadcom Over $1.1 Billion Patent Dispute

Volkswagen AG reached a deal with Broadcom Inc. to settle a patent dispute that could have potentially threatened the sale of some of its car models in Germany, according to people familiar with the matter.

Broadcom had filed 18 patent suits to ban some sales and was seeking as much as 1 billion euros ($1.1 billion) in license fees from the carmaker, said the people, who asked not to be identified as the settlement hasn’t been disclosed. They also declined to reveal the financial terms of the deal.
