Voxware Sues Honeywell, Vocollect to End ‘Predatory Conduct’ (1)

Honeywell International Inc. and its Vocollect unit have sought “to monopolize” the US market for voice logistics by raising “baseless” claims that rival Voxware Inc.’s products infringe patents “so broad that they would cover products of each company” in the market, Voxware alleges in a federal lawsuit.

Threats of “costly and frivolous” patent-infringement suits by Honeywell and three subsidiaries—"without regard to the scope of the asserted patents”—amount to “anticompetitive and predatory conduct designed to illegally maintain” and to “extend their market power,” according to a complaint filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the District of Delaware.
