Vivint Smart Home Inc. sales agents regularly harm competitor CPI Security Systems Inc. by posing as CPI representatives and making false sales pitches to its customers, a new lawsuit in a North Carolina federal court alleges.
Vivint tricks the customers into believing, among other things, that it has purchased or is purchasing CPI; that it’s “taking over” CPI’s customer accounts; or that Vivint makes its competitor’s equipment and is present at customers’ homes simply to upgrade CPI’s system, the suit alleges.
