BERLIN — Germany’s royalties collection society, GEMA, has filed a lawsuit against Google subsidiary YouTube, at Munich’s Regional Court over messages posted over videos it says are misleading — the messages blame GEMA for numerous blocked videos on the video-hosting site.
“The problem is, YouTube shows these [messages] on a lot of videos and GEMA says that is not right because [GEMA has filed a complaint] only based on 10 videos,” attorney Mathias Straub, who specializes in copyright and media law at Riegger law firm in Ludwigsburg, Germany told BNA.
