Verizon Challenges Indebted Plaintiff Traxcell’s Sale of Patents

Verizon Wireless Personal Communications LP urged a court to reject both Traxcell Technologies LLC’s purported transfer of its patents to a similarly named company and its related efforts to restart a patent suit targeting the telecom.

Verizon blasted Traxcell, calling the company’s patent sale to Traxcell II as a deceptive move designed to unfreeze its the patent infringement case, in a response filed Friday in federal court in Waco, Texas. It asked the judge to instead let a collections effort against Traxcell for more than a half-million dollars in attorney’s fees play out in state court.
