A patent owner may have used AI in a court filing, gaming software company Valve Corp. told a federal judge, pointing to citations to orders and quotations it says don’t exist.
Inventor Leigh Rothschild and affiliated entities referenced nonexistent court decisions and invented quotes from Valve’s expert witnesses in an October motion to exclude the experts’ testimony in Valve’s lawsuit under Washington state’s Patent Troll Prevention Act, Valve said in an opposition filing Nov. 10.
