Utah-Based Maker of Firearm Silencers Sues Rival on Patent, Mark

HuxWrx Safety Co., a Utah-based maker of firearm silencers, sued rival SilencerCo LLC alleging sound suppressors in its Velos LBP line infringe a patent and a trademark for HuxWrx’s Flow-Through technology.

The technology reduces noise and toxic gas without affecting firearm performance or operator health, according to a complaint filed Wednesday in the US District Court for the District of Utah. HuxWrx said SilencerCo’s use of the invention is “deliberate, consciously wrongful, flagrant, and an egregious case of misconduct beyond typical infringement.”
