A company that charges subscribers for access to online discussion groups told the U.S. Supreme Court it shouldn’t review a ruling that freed the company from direct copyright infringement liability for users’ unauthorized exchanging of adult images.
Giganews Inc., which hosts Usenet newsgroups, won rulings at the trial and appeals court levels that it wasn’t responsible for infringement by users sharing pictures owned by Perfect 10 Inc.
