USAA Sues PNC for Allegedly Infringing Mobile-Deposit Patents

The United Services Automobile Association sued PNC Bank N.A. in Texas federal court for allegedly infringing two patents covering mobile check deposit technology.

USAA won over $100 million from Wells Fargo & Co. in January for infringing related mobile-deposit patents.

The military-focused financial services group told the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas on Wednesday that it developed the patented technology because military members are often stationed in far-off locations with limited access to traditional banking.
