US Well Defeats Halliburton in Texas Fight Over Electric Fracking Patents

US Well Services LLC won’t have to pay rival Halliburton Energy Services Inc. any damages after a Texas federal jury determined USWS didn’t infringe three electric fracking technology patents.

In addition to finding USWS did not infringe the three patents in question, the jury also determined two of the asserted patent’s are invalid for obviousness. The jury’s verdict marked a change of fortune for US Well Services, which has repeatedly stumbled in the Halliburton patent fight.
