US Urged to Order Recall of Hyundai, Kia Vehicles Over Thefts

A coalition of 18 US states called for a federal recall of Hyundai and Kia vehicles over the rate of theft of their vehicles, according to a statement from California Attorney General Rob Bonta.

  • The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration was requested to institute a recall of unsafe Hyundai and Kia vehicles manufactured between 2011 and 2022 whose ignition switches and lack of engine immobilizers make them vulnerable to theft
